Never stop doing things that set your soul on fire
Fatigue is something that is very real while going through cancer treatment. Yesterday I slept the entire day after my root canal. So that was about 24 hours of sleeping…Slowing down has been something I’ve had to get better at and come to terms with.
I love adventuring and hiking in Colorado! I’ve done six 14ers (mountains that are at least 14,000ft high for all of you non-Coloradans) because the views are what ignite my soul. But hiking has pretty much been off the table this summer.
So this year we rented a side-by-side to be able to get out in the mountains again! I spent every childhood summer riding four wheelers with my grandparents in the Wyoming Medicine Bow forest, so this brought back all the feels.
Driving fast on gravel roads maybe isn’t exactly what the doctor would have ordered for a cancer patient. But ya know, sometimes ya just gotta let your hair, or wig, down and live a little to do the things that remind you what you’re fighting for.
Never stop doing the things that set your soul on fire. Where there is a will, there is a way, so climb those mountains on two legs or four wheels! Get creative about the things you love! You’ve got this!
