What does it look like to use all that God gives you?When we think of the blessings God gives us, we often think of the talents and gifts that we were born with or have grown into. We also acknowledge the blessings of relationships and wealth and health, all those feel-good things.

But when I look at my life, I want to be able to say that I truly used everything God gave me. And if I stuck only to the feel-good stuff, I’d be completely missing the point of all of the not-so-pretty parts. The cancer. The car accident. The bad relationship. The… you fill in the blank.

I don’t believe God gives us these hardships, but I do believe he allows us to walk through them for a reason. If you can find the deeper “why” behind the times of struggle, all of a sudden the not-so-pretty parts can become pretty darn beautiful.

For me, cancer could have been a killer of a lot of dreams. But instead, it’s helped launch my goals! Sometimes you just have to flip the narrative to find the real purpose behind all the things God gives you.
