What is femininity?
My friend brought up this question the other day, and honestly, we both didn’t know how to actually describe it.
Because depending on the woman, femininity can look completely different.
Sometimes it’s long hair, sometimes it’s short. Sometimes it’s dresses and makeup and sometimes it’s sporty clothes and a naturally bare face. Sometimes it’s earrings and tattoos, sometimes it’s a completely clean slate. Sometimes it’s all the curves and sometimes it’s slender. Sometimes it’s young and fit and sometimes it’s older with stretch marks from babies.
I know I’ve had to redefine femininity for myself though over the last multiple months. It’s hard going from living in a body that you completely know from head to toe to having to see it change drastically from day to day. There’s nothing easy about being forced into a mold of yourself you never chose to be in. And I think if a lot of us girls are being honest, we have all felt that same feeling at some point in our lives as we transition into new versions of ourselves.
But I think what we can be thankful for is that femininity seems fluid. There’s no one thing that makes us feminine. We are all just lovely, perfectly imperfect, women.
So for all the ladies out there, just know that whatever stage and body you’re in, you’re beautiful. Yes, you
