It’s the little things that are the big things.
When I was allergic to my chemo, this nurse stepped in with the good stuff: chocolate.
After making it through that long day, we both agreed that the chocolate was what did the trick. So it became part of my “pre-meds” and every time I came in, she’d always slip me a dose of chocolate in my plastic meds cup.
She was never actually my scheduled nurse. She was more of just my chocolate dealer on the side But every time I walked into the chemo unit, she made it more fun.
As I get to the end of my chemo treatment, I’m going to miss all of these nurses who have taken care of me so well. I’d love to do something special for them on my last day of chemo this week.
What ideas do you have to celebrate them?
