Here’s to partying in 2020 like it’s 1920!

I never imagined I would be a back-up dancer or have my house turned into a place called “Glittersby Mansion,” but that’s just the adventure you’re in for when you have @heidiluse as a roommate.

We threw a Great Gatsby murder mystery party last weekend and it was so much fun!

Party goers first had to enter through our back alleyway (which is super creepy btw) and look for the special golden bells to find the entrance to the secret speakeasy. They even had to show their “membership card” to get in. We turned our sketchy basement into the speakeasy for the night where everyone had to take their “suspect photos.”

Once everyone had arrived, there was a performance put on by Shan Toozy and her back-up dancers (ehem-my time to shine).

There was a body hidden somewhere in the house and people first had to find it by going through a series of clues to spell out where the body was hidden. Clues were hidden behind the fake door, on the dirt floor at the back of the basement, in the old Bible, on fake record players, on fake cigars, and more. Once they put together all the clues, they were able to find the body in the crawl space! (Isn’t she cute?! She didn’t deserve to be the victim but hey! Someone had to do it.)

Finally we played the roles we’d been assigned to figure out who the murderer was. Each character had their own booklets with the stories they were to be sharing. My character just spread a bunch of rumors and kept hiding from the mansion owner: Mr. Glittersby 😂There were three rounds of mingling and investigations, with new evidence being shared each time. Finally we had to cast our ballots on who we thought it was!

Can you guess who the murderer was from the suspect board??
