Have you ever felt weighed down by the burdens or uncertainties of life? Instead of breaking beneath the weight, I’ve learned something so important about making it successfully through those seasons. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If it feels too heavy, you were never meant to carry it alone. What would happen if instead of carrying that weight by yourself, you gave it to God to carry? What would it look like for you to trust him to step in and take over?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mathew 11: 28-30 reads, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Does that feel like a relief? Or does it feel too good to be true? What does that even mean in your life?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whenever I have been anxious during this season of facing breast cancer, I have turned to this story in the Bible and held it as a mantra to live by. If it’s too heavy for me, God doesn’t have it for me to carry. He wants us to surrender it over to him. So whenever I have felt stressed over my future, health, career, or relationships, I just say, “You carry it, God.” And he does.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I find rest in knowing that I don’t have to figure out all the answers on my own, because he will provide them in due time. I find rest in knowing that I’m not expected to heal every heart I encounter on my own because he is doing that work. I find rest in understanding that while I don’t know exactly what my future looks like, he does and all I have to be is faithful to keep taking that next easy step.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Giving my burdens to God has allowed me to live with a freeness of spirit that allows me to enjoy the adventure of life without stressing over all of it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
His burden is light. YOUR burden is supposed to be light. If it’s not, give it to God, friend. He wants to carry it for you
