This picture was taken four years ago after our school’s first holiday gift support fundraiser. We were able to support 5 families that year in helping them get things on their wish lists for the holidays. At the time, we weren’t able to use Amazon or anything like that, so I personally had to go shop in the store for everything on their lists, making sure I picked out just the right size and just the right color. I even remember spending fifteen minutes in the little boys’ underwear aisle to find just the right size of underwear with just the right Pokémon characters that the parents had picked out for their little boy. Fast forward to this year in the epic glory of 2020 and we are now looking to support 20+ families this year. If you’d like to purchase an item, or items, off of one of our Denver family’s wish lists, you can find it at the following link: https://docs.google.com/…/11ASMfSYZpAzYtoZHweQt…/edit…
It’s on a google spreadsheet, so it’s easiest to access it on a computer or after downloading the Google Doc app. The process is a bit clunky, but it’s the only way our school district allows us to do something special for these deserving families while abiding by their financial and technology rules The fundraiser ends on December 14th!
On a different but similar note, I was thinking about it all today and realized that some of YOU could likely use some extra help this year too. I know there are also folks that would love to give but don’t always know who to give to or what is needed. SO… what do you think about me running a holiday gift drive for this little community where you could sign up to receive support or give support? If you signed up to receive support, only I would know and otherwise it would be kept confidential. Let me know your thoughts!
