You’re the author of your own story.
2020 didn’t exactly go as planned… Who can relate?!
All I know is that when I wrote out my goals last January, “beat breast cancer” and “avoid pandemic by quarantining at home” never made my list.
Yet, those two things that never made my list are exactly the two things that lead me to accomplishing a goal I’ve had for so long: become a published author.
Stories of Humankind is a collection of real-life stories from 18 different authors about self-discovery, roads to recovery, grieving loss, and venturing down roads less traveled. My particular chapter is on how to take your power back while facing adversity and how to flip the narrative on hard times. Because…this year was all about that. A year that could have been one big closed door was actually a year of opportunity. What a gift.
In February, I’m hoping to be able to publish my first book that will be a breast cancer themed Christian devotional featuring multiple breast cancer warriors and survivors. The lead author of Stories of Humankind, @jessiesawyersofficial , has taught me how to bring a group of people through the writing process from start to finish. And goodness gracious… it’s a lot of work! But oh so worth it I’m grateful to be part of this book being launched on December 26th and to also have a book of my own in the works.
2020 has definitely been one to remember. It may not have looked like we would have expected, but I’m glad we get to write our own stories. I’m glad my little bald head on a book release is part of the story I got to write for my life.
Whatever lies ahead for you in 2021, just remember, you’re the author of it#breastcancer#storiesofhumankind#publishedauthor
